Anti-War protester blames Israel for Iraq war
"My son joined the army to protect America, not Israel"
-Cindy Sheehan
Meet Cindy Sheehan. Her son was in the army and died in Sadr City, Iraq in April of 2004. Her son was one of the 1,250+ killed since the war began. While it is understandable that she is devastated over the loss of her son, it is saddening that she has resorted to scapegoting Israel for this war despite the fact that it has been proven Israel had nothing to do with this war. Cindy is insisting that she meet with President Bush face to face to tell him how she feels about the war. It should also be noted that Cindy is being funded by a group that calls for the destruction of Israel.

*Now Cindy
is denying she ever made those remarks - "I didn't say that my son died for Israel. I've never said that. I saw somebody wrote that and it wasn't my words. Those aren't even words that I would say. I do believe that the Palestinian issue is a hot issue that needs to be solved and it needs to be more fair and equitable but I never said my son died for Israel."
but ABC still confirmed that she signed a letter to them with that accusation included.

Excerpt from Cindy Sheehan's letter to ABC:

"Am I emotional? Yes, my first born was murdered. Am I angry? Yes,
he was killed for lies and for a PNAC Neo-Con agenda to benefit Israel. My son joined the Army to protect America, not Israel. Am I stupid? No, I know full-well that my son, my family, this nation, and this world were betrayed by a George Bush who was influenced by the neo-con PNAC agenda after 9/11. We were told that we were attacked on 9/11 because the terrorists hate our freedoms and democracy...not for the real reason, because the Arab-Muslims who attacked us hate our middle-eastern foreign policy. That hasn't changed since America invaded and occupied Iraq...in fact it has gotten worse."

In this one paragraph alone Cindy has effectively blamed Israel for 9/11 and the Iraq war. First
Israel did not benefit from this war in any way. Secondly this war was NOT launched on Israel's behalf in any way. Thirdly, Cindy appears to disregard the fact that Bin Laden's biggest complaint against us is our supposed "exploitation" of Arab oil, our presence in Saudi Arabia, and our supposed "interference" in Arab governments. Bin Laden doesn't even mention Israel till AFTER 9/11. I wonder why she chooses to single out Israel as a scapegoat.
My letter to Cindy Sheehan:

hello. I read your article about your son dieing in Iraq. first of all I would like to say I'm sorry for the loss of your son. secondly I noticed you said something like "I didn't send my son to fight for Israel" where do you get the idea that the Iraq war was done to protect Israel? this war has actually put Israel in danger. I am actually in a hurry so I don't have time to sit here and write all the facts, so I will refer you to this site which explains it much better then I can www.themiddleeastnow/iraq. this site proves Israel had nothing to do with the war in Iraq. and you say that the Arab world hates us for our polices take a look at these two articles
www.themiddleeastnow.com/america support - this will explain why we support Israel
www.themiddleeastnow/facts - myths and facts about our foreign policy in the middle east

I hope everything turns out well for you. I understand that you are upset but please don't unnecessarily scapegoat others for this. thank you
(So far no response from Cindy)

Ok lets forget about the anti-Israel slurs for a minute. I was watching the news, and off course they were talking about Cindy. Now she's saying that America is not worth dying for. Did I hear that right? And criticized us for detaining someone who aided an Islamic terrorist.
Cindy's exact quote:
“America has been killing people on this continent since it was started. This country is not worth dying for.”
